Sympathetically extending a traditional oak construction with a modern addition, this family home required a sensitive design transition to create a felling of harmony between the new and old The traditional architecture influenced the alterations, with work including the integration of a 2 bay garage, a comfortable kitchen extension, wine cellar, two en-suite bedrooms, a playroom and a family room.
Traditional detailing on the original building was referenced for the home improvements. A new chimney was built to equal the original chimney brick for brick and the modern addition’s expressive eyebrow windows were made to match those of the original home in every detail.
